The genome sequence of a leaf beetle, <i>Chrysomela saliceti</i> (Weise, 1884) (Coleoptera: Chrysomelidae)
Abstract
We present a genome assembly from an individual male <i>Chrysomela saliceti</i> (leaf beetle; Arthropoda; Insecta; Coleoptera; Chrysomelidae). The assembly contains two haplotypes with total lengths of 738.63 megabases and 703.32 megabases. Most of haplotype 1 (98.68%) is scaffolded into 17 chromosomal pseudomolecules, including the X sex chromosome. Haplotype 2 was assembled to scaffold level. The mitochondrial genome has also been assembled, with a length of 21.9 kilobases. Gene annotation of this assembly on Ensembl identified 14 722 protein-coding genes. This assembly was generated as part of the Darwin Tree of Life project, which produces reference genomes for eukaryotic species found in Britain and Ireland.
