Genome sequence of <i>Babesia gibsoni</i> detected in a domestic dog in New Zealand

We report the draft genome sequence of <i>Babesia gibsoni</i> detected in a domestic dog in New Zealand. A high-quality near-complete genome, comprised of an apicoplast, mitochondrion, and four chromosomes, was produced through long-read metagenomic sequencing.
